Soybeans and Vegetables Unit Study

Well, I’ve been pretty missing in action on here lately.  This video explains why…

Our new unit study has been taking a lot of my time and energy. 

The kids’ guesses were pretty funny.  I especially liked Roxanne’s guess… soybeans and vegetables.  haha.

Another baby will be joining our family in May!  I’m 12 weeks along and finally starting to feel a bit better as I exit the 1st trimester.  The 1st trimester has never been my favorite but this time through has probably been my hardest.  Maybe it’s because I’m older?  It’s been 5 years since I was pregnant with Roxanne so in some ways I feel like I’m doing all of this for the first time.  haha. 

We are all really excited.  The kids were super surprised because they thought that we wouldn’t be having any more babies…Jershon and I never mentioned to them about the impressions we had been receiving that perhaps our family wasn’t quite complete yet.  

I feel like Evelyn and this baby have a special bond.  She has literally been having dreams about this baby for several months. 

In January, Evelyn had a dream that we had another baby and it was a girl. She told me that morning. Then she told Jershon that night… he said “mom did have a baby girl… it’s this one…” and then he hugged Roxanne. But then Evelyn said “No. In my dream you had 5 kids.”

She also had a few more dreams about the baby in between January and me actually being pregnant.

And she knew that I was pregnant even before I did. 3 days after I ovulated (the conception cycle) the girls came into my room and told me that I was going to have another baby. Then Evelyn said to Roxanne, very matter of factly, “go downstairs and tell daddy that mommy just found out that she is going to have another baby!” haha.

And to top it off, this baby is due one week after Evelyn’s birthday. 🙂

We told the kids a few days after we found out.  I thought it would be fun to disguise the announcement as a unit study. 🙂
