Sheep Unit: Visiting a Sheep Farm

Remember back in January when we met up with a new friend from the internet named LaVar and he was super nice and let us try out his Swedish sled – “sparkstöttning”?

Well, during our conversation with LaVar, while we were sledding that afternoon, we got started talking about sheep and wool and such and he mentioned that he had a friend who owns sheep and he could get us in contact with him if we wanted. He gave me his friend’s number and that was that.

Fast forward to last week. I reached out to that guy and asked if we could come see his sheep. Haha. He was so nice and said yes. 🙂 So last night we went to his farm, which is only 10 minutes away from our house, and he showed us his sheep and answered all of our questions for over an hour. He even let us hold one of the lambs.

I am grateful for nice people who are willing to share experiences with total strangers.

We wrote a letter to him this morning and this is what the kids wrote about their favorite parts of going to his farm:

Landon: “Thank you for letting us see your sheep. I liked seeing the lambs run.”

Porter: “My favorite thing was petting the lamb.”

Evelyn: “My favorite thing was when you fed the sheep.”

Roxanne: “My favorite part was when we went inside the fence to see the sheep.”
