Gardening: Month Three

Another month has flown by and our garden is getting a little ridiculous. Haha.  The aroma in our house is becoming more and more “earthy” and we have plants taking over everywhere.   We’re still really enjoying our garden, but I’d be lying if I said that I’m not looking forward to it warming up outside enough to put them out on our deck. haha.

See these posts for months one and two.

March 9: Harvested the kale and ate it with our pasta

March 10: cherry tomatoes (on Peacevine Cherry Tomato plant) are growing; cosmos flower bud is getting bigger

March 11: Tomato plants getting bigger

March 12: Purple Beauty Bell Pepper plant getting first flower!

March 15: Carrots sprouting!  And cosmos flower starting to bloom!

March 16: Cosmos flower opening up!

March 19: Plants taking over our house, Bell peppers starting to grow from the flowers, and cherry tomatoes growing bigger!

March 20: Tomato plants getting taller!

March 21: transplanted the oregano, thyme, and parsley so they have more room to grow

March 23: Marigold getting first bud!

March 23: Peacevine Cherry Tomato plant is now taller than me (so over 5 feet tall)!  It’s getting a little bit ridiculous having 4 gigantic tomato plants in our living room.  haha

March 24: Little baby bell pepper. :). It started out green, but is already turning purple

March 27: Bell pepper is all the way purple now and growing bigger everyday!

March 28: Pruned the Peacevine Cherry Tomato plant because it was getting a little out of control; re-arranged the living room a bit to give the tomato plants more space.  I really hope it starts warming up outside soon because this is getting a little crazy now.  haha.

March 29: Cosmos flower is looking beautiful.  Bell peppers growing fast (and have a dusting of pollen on them from other flowers)

March 31: I feel like these peppers are visibly bigger every single day!

April 1: Marigold bloomed!

April 7: Tomato plants are getting super tall!  I measured them.

Pink Bumblebee: 6′ 5″

Cherokee Chocolate: 5′ 4″

Peacevine: 5′ 9″

Amish Paste: 6′ 4″

And the other plants are taking over the kitchen… just waiting for warm enough weather to go outside during the day

April 8: Peacevine Cherry Tomato plant has over 100 tomatoes growing on it and finally the first one started turning yellowish orange this morning!  The marigold is looking beautiful and I love how the oregano and thyme grow and just overflow everywhere.

Is there anything you cannot do Shelly? I just loved seeing a peek at all the different varieties of veg, herbs and flowers you’re growing.
