Fika Friday: The Allegory of the Olive Trees

We have been studying Jacob 5 in the Book of Mormon this week which is The Allegory of the Olive Trees.

A couple months ago, I got this edition of The Millennial Instructor that has really been helping us to better understand the scattering and gathering of Israel.  It also has a lot of fun ideas, activities, and recipes that have to do with olives and olive trees so we decided to do a Jacob 5 themed Fika today.

The kids made olive trees (with good and bad fruit) from legos; we had lemon olive oil cookies, and carrot olives (a family “recipe” and invention of my Grandma Hall); and we made an olive oil lamp from an orange (the pith makes a natural wick).
