10 Year Engagement Anniversary

August 29th was the 10 year anniversary of when we got engaged. To celebrate, we went to the place where Jershon proposed – which is a fountain on BYU campus. We spent a lot of time at this spot when we were dating. A lot of hours, sitting on that bench, talking, and maybe some kissing.  This is where we kissed for the first time and also where we got engaged so it’s got a special place in our hearts.

We told the kids the story of how Jershon proposed and then we reenacted the special event.

Funny story, when Jershon pulled out the ring (during the real proposal), I didn’t believe him so I kept asking if he was serious. Haha. I knew that we were going to get married. And I knew that he was in the process of buying a ring, but I had no idea that he already had the ring. So when he pulled the little box out from underneath the bench (not our regular bench), I thought that he was fake proposing with someone else’s ring. Haha. When he finally convinced me that he was serious and this was the real deal then of course I accepted his proposal. Best decision I’ve ever made.

On the night we got engaged, before going to “the beach”, we did some of the tree tour. So we had to reenact one of our photos. 🙂

2008 and 2018

Ironically, there was a couple sitting on our bench when we first got there (just like the evening of the real proposal). Luckily our crazy kids interrupted their romance and they left a few minutes later. haha.

2008 and 2018. Had to recreate another photo… When Jershon picked me up for our date that night, he gave me a single rose…

And then when he dropped me off at my apartment after we got engaged, I came into my room to find 6 dozen roses on my dresser (that he had my roommates set up while we were gone).
